Ventured to this quaint little pub when visiting Harwich after reading good reviews online, and it didn't disappoint! I love pubs like this..you can feel the age and history of them. It was warm and cosy, and what was presumably the landlady was very friendly. We turned up just as the chef was about to clock off, but they kindly stayed on for us and cooked us a delicious meal- much obliged! I had the "humongous" steak pudding, and it was exactly that! With some of the best mash I've had and seasonal veg. Sadly I didn't get a photo of it, but rest assured it was a gut buster in the best possible way!Highly recommended :)
Really friendly owner. I arrived here to take the boat to England and wanted to eat some fish and chips. The only downside was that the kitchen was closed at 9 pm and I arrived at 10 pm. The owner offered me to order some take away and a plate which was super nice !
Best pub in the area. The owners, Pam and Kevin always greet you in a friendly manner. Good drinks, excellent food, frequent live entertainment, all in a comfortable, clean venue. The natives are friendly too ! Well worth a visit.
A really friendly pub. Pam and Kevin the landlord and landlady are always cheerful. A place where you can feel at home. The food is always fresh and tasty. Definitely a place to be recommended.
